I'm going to Paris! (Again)

I just found out that I was granted an artists residency at the Cite in Paris May-June of 2017. This pretty much means I will not be teaching in Florence, Italy this summer of 2016. Stay tuned for more details on this upcoming photo adventure!

Email Hacked!

A warning to my friends out there, my email account for stan@strembicki.com was hacked and its sending out SPAMM all over the world and a lot of it is bouncing back to me (that how I know). If you get a weird email from me do not open it. My WU and Apple email accounts still work. Sorry, it is sadly a modern world.

No photo class planned for summer 2016

It was confirmed this month that Washington University will not be offering a summer photography class in Florence Italy. I am in the process of trying to decide if I will offer my own class next summer. If you have any interest in taking a one month class possibly June or mid May to mid June, please get in touch with me.

Gabe, Florence 2009

A dear friend from R.I. and someone who is a terrific model
visited us in Florence in 2009. This shot taken on the balcony
of my apartment in the afternoon light.

Patty, Florence 1996

This was taken in my bed room of a friend who was taking a printmaking
class at SRISA. The building was part of the Palazzo Pucci and the
widow of Pucci still lived there.

Katie, Florence 1998

Another shot taken in one of the many apartments I've
rented in Florence, this one had this beautiful chaise
lounge in it. I've always had a soft spot of the reclining
nude in art history and its a motif I've often repeated
in my work.

Florence nude 2001

It may be awhile before I post work from Florence again, so I
thought it might be interesting to post some work from previous
trips. I photographed this couple in the kitchen of what had been
a 15th century monastery and was now a car garage. They were
from Missouri and had just gotten engaged!
